🎓🧠 After an incredible journey full of challenges, learning, and growth, I’m very happy to share that I successfully defended my PhD thesis at the 29th of October 2025 on
“The Neurophysiological Basis of Interacting Emotional and Cognitive Processes.” 🧠🥳

I am deeply grateful to my supervisors and examination board — Jochem Rieger, Prof. Dr. Christoph Herrmann, and Prof. Dr. Surjo R. Soekadar — for their invaluable support, guidance, and trust throughout the entire process.

A heartfelt thank you also goes to my wonderful colleagues at the Applied Neurocognitive Psychology Lab and the Department of Psychology at the University of Oldenburg, as well as my team at Applied Neurocognitive Systems at Fraunhofer IAO.
And of course, thank you to my friends — especially Elisabeth Rosa Pelikan, Sabrina Gado, and Maren Bertheau — and my family, whose encouragement made all the difference. ❤️

Completing this PhD has been one of the most intense and rewarding chapters of my life. I’m very excited for what comes next: continuing to advance this research field and exploring how the brain processes emotional and cognitive information in real-world, everyday contexts. 🔍💡🧠 Here’s to new beginnings and the next chapter!
