Neurophysiological Validation of the GAUDIE Database on Emotional Speech Sequences

The project comprises the neurophysiological validation of a published database for emotional speech sequences in a sample of 30 people. Neurophysiological data, including electroencephalography (EEG), electrocardiography (ECG), and electrodermal activity (EDA), will be collected to validate the database.

The project includes:

  1. Data Collection
  2. Neurophysiological Signal Analysis
  3. Data Evaluation using:
    • Descriptive statistics
    • Inferential statistics
    • Machine learning methods

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate will exhibit the following characteristics:

  • Enrolled as a student at a college or university
  • The capacity to work independently with commitment and enthusiasm
  • Excellent skills in both written and spoken English
  • The ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively in a team setting
  • Good programming skills in Python

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Initial experience with experimental programming and neurophysiological measurement methods
  • Knowledge of experimental design and statistical methods
  • Experience in the field of signal processing and machine learning

Expected Timeline

The project is expected to last 6 months.


Support and Resources

Students will receive:

  • Lab equipment and software for the project
  • Regular meetings to discuss progress, address challenges, and refine the research direction
