The central research question of my doctoral thesis and reason for sleepless nights is how cognitive processes and emotional distractions interact with each other. How are cognitive resources devided and attention allocated during their interaction? In this preliminary project, we investigated the emotion-cognition interaction with EEG and a working memory - arithmetics task with auditory emotional distractions.
